Captain’s Cut plays out over five rounds, each one raising the stakes with tougher requirements. Build the best sets, score the most points, and claim the title of top pirate strategist.

If you’ve ever played canasta, samba, or hand, knee & foot, you have a head start on how to play this game.  If you’ve never played any of those games, that’s okay too – there is a reason why so many people play them.  A Canasta is just putting 7 alike cards together. In a traditional canasta game, standard decks of cards are used.  In Captain’s Cut, we’ve designed a special set of 500 cards (almost 10 regular decks) for game play.  Our design makes it easy to see what cards you have, what cards you may need, and since the point values are printed on the card, it is easier to keep score.  The cards and mats we’ve designed to keep the game more interesting than playing with traditional cards.

The game is played in 5 rounds.  In Round 1, you need 1 Bounty (with no Wilds) and 1 Booty (with Wilds).  By Round 5, you need 4 Bounties and 4 Booties along with 1 set of Treasure Chests and 1 set of Wilds.  The first player to go out in each round also wins Captain’s Cut points (these point values increase each round).  Based on the way scoring works, it really is possible to be in last place going into the final round and ultimately win the game.

Each round includes:
